About The Rex

History

The Rex was first built in 1934. It prospered for many decades before declining in popularity and then closing in 1988.

Restoration

Between 1998 and 2004 the Rex underwent a restoration costing £1 million. The Rex re-opened its doors to the public in 2004, with three sell out shows in the first two weeks.
